PRODUCT INFORMATION

The Spyder 250 is one of our newer 250cc models and we like it alot! It has a rear suspension that is virtually identical to the Titan and a rather nicely designed dual A-arm front suspension unique to this buggy. As a result, this buggy, like the Titan and our other buggies with independent rear suspension, is MUCH more comfortable and controllable in rough terrain than the solid-rear-axle models we carry.

The Spyder 250 has nice legroom for tall folks up to 6'3" or so and its unique rollcage design makes it the easiest buggy we offer for the horizontally challenged to enter and exit the vehicle, though the rollcage on the Titan offers better protection overall.

One downside to this model versus the Titan is the gearshift linkage. The Spyder 250 uses a cable linkage whereas the Titan uses one composed of solid actuator rods. The practical difference is that the Spyder does not immediately go into gear like the Titan--there is a distinct "clunk" after shifting from forward to reverse and vice-versa when you press the gas pedal as the gearbox actually goes into gear. This means that you will have to use a little more care with the Spyder, ensuring that the gearbox has engaged fully before hitting the throttle in earnest.

The Myth of MSRP

And while we're discussing prices, we'd like to expose the myth of Manufacturers's Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) for Chinese-manufactured go karts, dune buggies, motorcycles, and motorscooters. In a nutshell, anyone who claims that an MSRP exists fior one of these vehicles is lying through their teeth! We refuse to mislead our customers by comparing our prices to some fictitious MSRP trying to decieve you with fake "savings."

AwesomeBuggy.com supports its dune buggies, mini sand rails, and go karts free of charge through several means.

The first one is to check out our tech support menu in the main menu above. There you will find our unique visual assembly guides that portray with detailed photographs (and, as time permits, web video) detailing the step-by-step process of taking a buggy out of the crate and making it ready to drive. As of this time, we have assembly guides for several buggies, as well as one showing how to install our high-performance GY6 intake and exhaust system kit on a Magnum 150 buggy.

The second one is to call us and one of our technicians will be happy to assist you with your problem. Beware of buggy dealers who claim that they have "certified technicians" because, when it comes to these types of vehicles, no such certifications exist! Our technical folks who take your calls get their hands dirty working on these machines daily and know them inside and out, so you can be confident that you can and will get the assistance you need.

Before we add any buggy to our product list, we take it out to our "secret Arizona desert test site" and simply run the whee out of it! We climb hills, crawl rocks, descend cliffs, and jump the buggies 6+ feet into the air, all for the purpose of finding their performance limitations and literally trying to break them to determine their weak points. We also test for reliability and comfort.

Why go to all this trouble? So that when you buy one of our buggies, you know you are getting a proven vehicle that you can count on for years of reliable service and enjoyment.

If, after checking out our information here at AwesomeBuggy.com, you are still unsure or confused as to which buggy to buy and are needing some more input so that you can make a better-informed decision, we recommend the gang over at the BuggyNews.com forum. BuggyNews.com is a non-commercial (meaning they have nothing to sell and therefore can be counted on to give you the straight skinny with no axes to grind or ulterior motives). They are a great source of recommendations on various buggies and buggy dealers as well as a fund of general information on all things "buggy."
